Key to the Gate

Last Friday we met our daughter at Bumdoodler's to have a sandwich and pick up our grandson, Carson, for an overnighter at Grandpa and Grandma's house.

As you can see, it's a sandwich shop and has wonderful pies and desserts as well.  The wall in the dining area is a mural of local shops in Boerne (pronounced Bernie).  I had a half chef salad that was almost too much to eat!

On our way back home with Carson, we passed a fence that had this very unusual brass key.  Carson is a very bright 7-year-old, so he was inquisitive as to why there would be a key on a fence...Did the key open the gate?  Is it the key to the house?  It might be a key piece of information to find out the purpose.  Then we have key's to the car that drives through the gate.  Hmmm.  All this to join in "Fences Thursday" with the Run-Around-Ranch Report.
Thanks for hosting!

O, and I've been to Boerne many many times.

The key is puzzling and perfect for a 7-year-old to think about. ;)

I have never seen a key on a gate, but I guess that it is a good symbol for unlocking and so on isn't it. xx

Really? It's a unique little town, but is now almost a suburb of San Antonio. There are now some huge number of building permits waiting for the okay to build. The traffic is becoming pretty intense as well.

Carson is always a treat.

The food is always dependably good. That's why it's a favorite for us.

Like every grandma, I'm always surprised at what he comes up with.
