Thursday Fences and Construction

It's Thursday already, and it's time for the Good Fences meme with Theresa.  Across the road from our subdivision, there is some heavy construction going on for the Former Texas Ranger Museum.  Be sure to click on the link to read about their plans and progress.  There is also a drawing of the final outcome of this center.  My son-in-law has a Texas Ranger in his family history.  There are so many historical books written about the Rangers and they are still active in law enforcement today.  My hubby took some pictures, so I've created a mosaic for you to see what is happening currently.  I'll have him take more as they progress.  You will see that the entrance gate is in place, the tower is built, and the visitor center is under construction, almost ready for a roof.

Have a wonderful Thursday.  Thanks for hosting, Theresa!

It's interesting to see how buildings are formed from the very beginning isn't it.

That entrance tower will be impressive when complete. Re: your comment on mine. I grew up in Central Illinois (Mattoon area) moved away in 1973 - to Texas (Dallas) - and now have moved back to Illinois. I've come full circle. Hope you are enjoying Texas as much as I did. I would still be there, but my kids moved away and this is a good in-between to be for visiting.

Oh, so it's not a former site but a site for former Rangers. Takes an old guy a minute. :)

Oh, I don't have much idea about Rangers but it seems quite educational place about them♡♡♡ And I liked being able to compare your pictures under construction and the picture of the link. Great post about the place and for fence, Linda.

Interesting! I have a Texas Ranger in my family tree, too. Funny, it really wasn't so long ago as it seems, is it? I always think of the Texas branches of my tree when I make things like Chicken Fried Steak - is that stereotyping?! :D

Lots of scaffolding there. I bet this will be a super cool place to visit when it's all completed.

These are great photos and I would love to see that Texas Ranger Museum when it is finished.

That's a lot of scaffolding around that little tower. I think there is more scaffold than tower!

Great photos. The one in the top right looks like red hangers on a clothing rack.

that's pretty cool. I suppose the Rangers are a State Police force? nice way to honour and remember their service.
