Bush Whacker Furniture

Happy Tuesday, everyone. Hubby and I made a trip to San Marcos, TX at a camp ground to meet up with some really wonderful friends from back in Whitney at White Bluff, and along the way we were looking for rubbish and fences as we traveled the countryside.  So, linking with Rubbish by Roan and Good Fences, here's our shot of the Bush Whacker Hand Made Furniture establishment, obviously looking a bit worn out.  Interestingly a truck drove up to the gate while I was taking this picture and appeared to be going there to go to work.  Really?

Obviously both the building and the fence are in dire need of repair.  Thanks for hosting, ladies!  A big dog came out of nowhere to run in my direction, so I quickly jumped back in the car.

Have a great day!

Linda Kay

That's a really interesting photo. I like it. I would have jumped back into the car, too. Thinking of a movie from a long time ago about a dog that kept a woman trapped inside her car. Cujo, I think.

Aw, well the only thing I can say about the big dog is that I'm more scared of little dogs. :-) cool photo.

So did it turn out to be a nice dog?

I don't think that it would be my first choice of place to go to work! xx

Watch out for those dogs.

It looks like a ghost town building. Maybe it was a ghost truck lol! I've been attacked by two big dogs in the past, so I'd be hoofing back in the car too. I do love dogs though and have one and a cat!

Cool pics. Great trip. Believe it or not I've never been there!
I've heard of it. My mother was there when she was young! Very cool post. Thanks for sharing it.

Hi Linda ~~ Had to drop a line. I saw your post last night but didn't get to commenting. Bushwacker Furniture is at Fisher, Texas, a dead town. It is near Wimberly, Texas where we almost bought a retirement homesite. But too far from the kids, we were afraid they wouldn't come up to see us. We live in Montgomery, Tx, northwest of Houston and about 180 miles east of Wimberly.

I had never heard of Bushwacker Furniture so I learned a lot. Google found the owner's Web site. It says he sells his special furniture at a booth (forgot where) on Saturdays.

Thank you for the lesson, Happy Travels. I will post with Josie again this week,
..

Love the photo, Linda! Oh, and by the way, I saw your comment on another blog I perused today. Our name, Linda, is Spanish, and it means 'beautiful'. :)

I would jump back in my car too if a big dog starting barking and running in my direction. Love dogs but you never know. Great photo! Have fun with your friends :)

broken down workshop? broken down fence?
a man in a truck? a large dog?

I wonder what hornet’s nest you disturbed there.

They may be in disrepair but they are not lacking character!

they are kinda old and beaten up, but it sure adds some character I think. I really like the shot... it gives an interesting sense of time and place.
