Middle School Fence

This stone and concrete fence was donated to the Fredericksburg Middle School as a class gift to the school district back in the 30s. I think is really unique, especially in light of the stone walkway directly in front of it. This one is strictly for decoration, as it isn't keeping anything out or in.

This tree is a little too close to the wall and is disrupting the sidewalk, but I do like the late afternoon shadows cast on the fence. Guess which way is west?

Linking with Teresa at the Run Around Ranch for Good Fences. Thanks for hosting!

I like the stone fence and the tree. It does look bad with the tree roots. Have a happy day!

It's a nice fence, and someone took a lot of pride in making it and the school beautiful.

I agree the tree is a bit too close to the wall, but it looks so beautiful! I really like that the stone in the wall/fence is so similar to the stone in the sidewalk. Someone really thought about what s/he was doing.

This is neat....we have a similar rock fence around part of our school. There were trees in the way, but they rocked around them. I wonder if the tree has been stunted with the rock on top of it? Very neat picture....I was trying to find WEST, but I got turned around.
lol.

I like that rock fence- too bad about the tree roots- they do tend to gnarl and travel. Have a great day!

That is a gorgeous fence/wall. I hope they can move that tree before it wrecks the wall.

There might be some moss on the side of the tree we can't see.

I don't know why but I'm reminded of the movie, 'Grease.' That tree trunk looks like a elephant leg... lol.

I like the natural stone.
When people plant trees I am sure they forget what damage they can do in the future.
