Sunday Serenity

As I was looking through our Denmark/Germany pictures for the lighthouse posted yesterday, I ran across the cemetery from Varda, from where some of my husband's family came. Didn't find any tombstones with the names we were seeking.

Isn't this an incredibly beautiful place? This song was sung at my mother's funeral, and I can't hear or sing it without tears.

Have a blessed and quiet day.

Linda Kay

What a pretty cemetery. I like the arrangement.
The song is something else. The lead vocal has a wonderful voice.
There are songs that bring me the same reaction regarding my Mom. (smile)
Thank you, Linda Kay

You certainly are a prodigious poster -- 6 posts since I last checked in, and I don't think it was that long ago. I hang my head in abject shame. :)

I've never seen a cemetery where each tombstone is framed by it's own bush.

Since I was a child I have enjoyed visiting cemetaries, especially the old ones with lots of big trees. They are so peaceful, full of bird song - just lovely. I can understand that you always have tears in your eyes when you hear this song that was sung at your mom's funeral. Moms are so special in our life. I still miss mine - she passed away 8 years ago.

That really is a most beautiful and moving hymn. I have not played the clip, but I can hear the words in my head and am singing them along as I am writing this to you. Wonderful words to hold on to. xx
