How High Can You Fly?

“Gratitude is the attitude that sets the altitude of life.”

The quote is from Edwin Louis Cole, according to Google and BrainQuotes, along with others who have sited this.

I found this quote in relation to this attitude...

“With ideas it is like with dizzy heights you climb: At first they cause you discomfort and you are anxious to get down, distrustful of your own powers; but soon the remoteness of the turmoil of life and the inspiring influence of the altitude calm your blood; your step gets firm and sure and you begin to look - for dizzier heights.”
And here’s Zig Ziglar’s comment on the same...

“Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.”
Here is one more quote for you from the Huffington Post, and you should read the whole article if you need more clarification. But this pretty much sums it up!
"What is attitude anyway? It is the mental state or position you take regarding your life and affairs. This means it’s not what you think but how you think it. Your attitude forms every event in your life, whether you realize it or not. Out of your attitude comes your enjoyment of life and gratitude for all your blessings. Out of your attitude also comes your disappointment and anger at how things have turned out. Out of attitude also comes the feeling that no accomplishment will be ever be good enough or that you are not good enough. Every day, your attitude is challenged by other people and by external factors. How will you react? Will you allow adversity to stop you from moving forward? Will you allow a negative person to ruin your day, make you lose your cool, or force you to give up on your dreams? When such temptations come knocking on your door, stand at the door of your mind and declare powerfully and silently, "No one is home". In other words, cease to engage." (part of article by Natash Dern)

How’s your gratitude for what you have in life....how is your attitude today? Be sure to approach the weekend with a smile on your face for all those around you, and leave all those negative thoughts behind. Joining in today with In Other Words with Patricia.

"P A " everytime I wake up. Its the only way to be, whether your life is upside down or rightside up. There is always a sunnier day ahead and a light at the end of the tunnel and things will get better - its what my parents taught all of us and trust me life was hard for all. Most people tend to forget, that ones self has to be the one doing the pushing ahead though. Have a wonderful day.

I totally agree with having a positive attitude to life, it has got me through some dark times. I also believe in living every day as if it is your last!

Hi Linda Kay, I especially like this post on Senior Adventures. You know how real estate people always say It's All About Location? Well, I've heard others say It's All About Attitude. Both are largely true but more so, as far as I'm concerned, when it comes to Attitude. The question is, How do we get many of our fellow human beings to realize this little truth?

Oh yes, we all have so much to be grateful for.

So true that attitude can make a bad day a good day. I've always like the quote: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be"
