Fence, no a wall

I always enjoy putting in a fence for Thursday Good Fences with Theresa. I ran across this photo taken in Dubrovnik, Croatia several years ago of the city wall surrounding the old city. I think it could qualify as a very fortified fence! Some of our fellow travelers walked around the top of the wall.

Have a fabulous Thursday and be sure to join in with the others who are posting Good Fences. Thanks for hosting!

Well, that is very cool! It makes me think of the French fort on Monty Python & the Holy Grail. Ha!

It must be 45 years ago that I was in Dubrovnik. I never returned to that country because of the terrible war they had there. But the city survived fortunately without much damage.

They don't build fences like they used to. lol! Gorgeous view and a very substantial fence.

Dubrovnik is so beautiful! I wonder whether you traveled there before or after the war? Things have certainly changed since the end of that terrible war, but the town is still beautiful. This is a wonderful photo, Linda.

Wow that is so cool. I would love to walk on top of that wall but then again I'm afraid of heights so I might be to chicken to do it.

I think the fences and stone walls built by soldiers at Gettysburg are interesting. I'm amazed that so many still stand.

Love,

That should keep any interlopers out!

For such a solid structure, it sure is beautiful. Looks like it serves two purposes - to keep some in and keep others out.

Gracious! I thought that was Florence because of the roof color.
