Roadrunner

The Texas Roadrunners are such fun to see when they go streaking across the road or across the lawn. This one stopped long enough for a photo!

Actually, I can take no credit for this one....it was posted by a friend on Facebook. Where is Wile E. Coyote in this picture. He might have the ACME dynamite hidden under those logs!

Joining in today with Saturday critters. Thanks Eileen!

Once in awhile we have those visit the Tucson house but mostly I see them either out on the desert or along roads. They may like to race cars ;)

He does look so cute, doesn't he! I can see why a cartoonist was inspired to capture him.

They are rare here. I believe we have a pair and hope they multiply.

Great capture.

A blog friend in Arizona gets them, javelinas, and other critters coming through her property. Her two Scottish terriers have a lot of animal company.

Is it wrong to admit I was always rooting for the Coyote?

That shot made me think of my summer days as a teen in New Mexico. The good ole days.

we see road runners here a few times a year. Maybe I'll get lucky and catch one, too. Great job!

I don't think I've ever seen a roadrunner before. It must be so much fun to actually see one. Are they not able to fly?

When I learned that roadrunners were real, I was actually terrified of them. I was always on Wile E Coyote's side! I have no idea why they scared me. I used to think it was because we couldn't outrun them, even with a car, but I loved cheetahs. Now I'm questioning the psychological mindset of eight year old me!

Dearest Linda; I remember how I was amazed seeing the roadrunner in Eileen's post :-) Birds won't stop long enough for a photo, do they! And also sometimes 'they are audible but invisible'. Wish my English makes sense p:-)

I HOPE you are having a wonderful weekend.

I'd never thought of it but I guess the cartoon had to get the name from somewhere.

HI there, I had always heard of the Roadrunners --but had never seen one UNTIL we visited Mt. Nebo, Arkansas one year. I saw my first Roadrunner there... WOW--I was SO excited.

Hugs,
Betsy
