Traveling East

We have settled into a La Quinta hotel in Vicksburg for the night (Wednesday) after driving almost 600 miles today. We hit the road at 7 AM and arrived here at 5 PM, taking some breaks along the way with the dogs.

Here's my view of the endless road as I was driving in Central Texas, leaving behind my wonderful Hill Country

This was the view when hubby was driving in Louisiana, lots more trees and note that beautiful blue sky!

Almost to our destination for Day #1 - Vicksburg, Mississippi, just on the other side of the Mississippi river in Louisiana

And finally, can't resist linking in with Theresa with a fence made of blocks at our hotel in Vicksburg. Thursday Good Fences!

I'll post another update tomorrow evening....from Knoxville, Tennessee.

Six hundred miles?! You two are *hardcore*! That much time in the car is just too much for me, but it definitely beats putting up with the hassle of air travel these days.

You picked a great state to travel through. I have been to several locations there, but love Nashville.

I like that fence. You are quite the traveler Linda Kay.

In the Robert Caro bio of President Johnson I'm reading, Johnson has just been in Fredricksburg (I think I'm spelling it wrong) with the German chancellor, who had a wonderful time and loved a local church where the hymns were all sung in German. That must have been 1964.

Love,
Janie

Finally I can comment you on here. I feel so bad you always comment me. I do not have the g+ now. I took it off.

Drove me around the bend. So glad you use this one for people who do not use your other one.

That's a long drive for sure. You saw some pretty country. I like the shot going over the bridge and your stone wall at the hotel is very nice too. Enjoy your travels.

Linda Kay,

That long endless road reminds me of Fl.
I hear Texas is worse. xoxo
I've always wondered, how far apart are the gas stations?
It seems Fl. has one on every corner..LOL
I imagine not so in Texas.
