Oreos?

Some interesting to share with you and with Eileen for Saturday Critters. Be sure to see others' blogs who have joined this fun meme of nature.

This inquisitive gull appeared in the windshield of the boat we were riding in on our tour to Monhegan Island in Maine. He would sit and look in until the captain gave him a tidbit.

Belted Galloway cows resting in the shade....we call them Oreo cows.

Have a blessed Saturday and a fabulous weekend!

Great photos.

This breed of cattle has always seemed strange to me.

That's a new breed to me. I've never seen or heard of Belted Galloways. I always like your photos and often learn something new!

Love those cows but we don't see them here in N.Ireland all that often. Have a lovely weekend.

I love your first photo of the seagull. You captured a great expression! He reminds me of the gulls in a Disney movie that kept saying "more?"

The cows are lovely

Stupid question: Are the cows wearing something for some unknown cow reason, or are they that color?

Love,
Janie

I haven't seen that breed of cattle before - the nickname suits well though.

Hello Linda Kay, You are right about 9/11. We will never forget the loss of American lives and others people from various countries who had businesses in the towers as well. So sad.

Love the seagull and it appears he was on a mission to get food. HA! The belted cows are such as unusual breed of cows. There is a farm near Durham, NC. that raises them. I have visited there with my longtime friend Beverly, our host of Pink Saturday. Oreo is a great description.

Have a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Jeanne

That is so weird looking. I've never seen cows like that. They really do look like they've got some kind of sash around their middles.

I wonder if he comes to that same spot every day? If so he has the captain well trained :) Great photos Linda Kay!

I love cows!!! Your photos are beautiful. Speaking of Oreo, I have a black and white cat who is two years old, and he firstly belonged to some good friends of mine who named him Oreo because of his colours. However, I have renamed him...Romeo. I thought he deserved a more respectful name. LOL! He has green eyes, is beautiful, and has a kind of white diamond shape on his forehead, prompting me to call him "Diamond Head" every now and then. :)
