Weekend Events

Hard to believe it's Monday already. Joining in today with Good Random Fun, thanks for hosting, Tamar.

Good: My writing friends (also a critique group) and I are going to participate in a Book Signing event at the Llano Public Library. You can click on the link to see the write ups on all the authors in attendance, some of whom are going to make special presentations.

Random - The Lutheran Churches in Fredericksburg put on a Fall Festival on Saturday. Our Lutheran ladies had made over 500 jars of various jams and preserves in addition to many baked goods for sale.

Fun: Grandpa and Grandma attended Carson's football game on Saturday. Those little guys, ages seven, eight, and nine, played flag football in 90 degree weather! We got to the game just in time to see Carson run for a touchdown! He was also really aggressive in grabbing the flags from the opposing team when they had the ball. Carson's team is red and white, he's in front of his dad, the coach. Those flags at their sides are attached with velcro. There is no tackling allowed, therefore no helmets. I chuckled at the dark paint under their eyes. The boys had been watching the Texas A & M Aggie game before their event, so they wanted to look like the big boys.

Have a great week, and I'll be back on Wednesday for Wednesday Wit and Wisdom. If you get a chance, find a picture to post on your blog, write a story about it, then link in to share.

So sweet to watch the football game of your grandson. A signing session of writers is always very nice to attend.

So much fun! The lovely fall festival! And Carson looked like he had a great time, despite the heat!

It looks like a fine fall festival and I'm sure it was fun to see the boys playing.

Might be healthier if the "big boys" started using flags as opposed to tackling. Sure would speed up the game. :-)

Good morning, the fall festival sounds like a fun time. But spending time with the grandson is even more fun. They are cuties! Have a happy day and new week ahead!

Glad to see the little guys are playing flag football instead of tackle. They will be knocking heads soon enough.

Being a grandparent is the BEST job of all!!! I still don't understand why we can't just jump into this position and skip being parents of teenagers! Smile. Visiting from The good, the random the fun.

You certainly be in great company at the signing.

Big football scares me. I like flag much better.

The church my family went to when I was growing up always had a fall fair as part of the network of that denomination's churches in the area. I think it still goes on today.

Glad you got to attend the game. Those little guys love to have Grandma and Grandpa watching them do their stuff. One of my 6-year old grandsons is playing flag football and two others play soccer. I got to attend both games on the Saturday I was in Minnesota and they love that.
