Lighthouse #1, Maine

While in Maine, we gathered a number of photos of light houses, so I thought I'd share one with you today. Maybe there will be more to come, if you like. I never tire of them. The first of these is Curtis Island Light, just on the edge of the harbor at Camden, ME. The first shot is from the shore line looking out at the island. Click on the link for more details.

This is my favorite with the sailboat in the distance approaching the harbor.

This picture is from the sea and our lighthouse tour as we returned to Camden Harbor.

Because of the color in these pictures, I'll link in to Sally's Blue Monday.

Have a fabulous week!

Linda Kay

Hi Linda Kay,

I agree; I like the shot with the sailboat. You should frame it! Isn’t it fun finding blues to share?

Happy Blue Monday!

Aren't light houses fun. I love seeing them and photographing. I would love to live on one. But on a lake instead. I like calm seas.
Your shots are beautiful Blues.
I'm sorry I didn't come by Wednesday. Work is just killing me.
I am thankful to have Monday off though. It helps me get through the week.
But the good news is I've applied for a job. I'm hoping to hear from them today or tomorrow for an interview.
Say a prayer for me will you.
Have a good week.
XXOO.

Linda, I went to Maine only once in my life and I was just 9 years old, but that doesn't stop me from loving it! The smell and sounds of the ocean, everything! My cousin and aunt took my mother and I there and we stayed at a bed and breakfast which was called "Mermaid by the Sea". I contacted the state of Maine and Old Orchard Beach, (as this was where the B&B was located,) and sadly nobody has any recollection of such a place! However, I trust my memory on this and know that I have the name right. Your photos are gorgeous and captivating.

I love lighthouses and the sea and coastline. Your photos of the Curtis Lighthouse are beautiful. We've been to Camden a lot over the years but I've never seen this lighthouse. Guess we need to explore more than the shops and harbour area. :)

What gorgeous pictures - just as I imagine Maine to be. Hope I visit there some day. I too have been visiting and photographing a lighthouse this week - they really do attract us. I wonder why?

These are beautiful images. Lighthouses are one of my favorite things to photograph.

I love lighthouses, too, and your photo with the sailboat is just lovely. There is something so noble about them as they stand ready at the water's edge to do their duty and be battered by storms.

These are beautiful views...I think I agree with you on my favorite, but I do like them all.

Darn...I was in Camden and missed this lighthouse! I got quite a few others. I went up on the mountain/hill (?) and there were great views of the harbor.
