Monday reflections

Several of us ladies from my old neighborhood were invited to lunch with a friend who had also built a new house. Her home is in some hills outside of Fredericksburg. We walked up to her front door, and when she opened it, this is what we saw:

Not a foyer that we had expected! Instead a wide patio with this infinity swimming pool looking out over the hills of the subdivision. Our hostess also loves flamingos, and she has quite a collection. A friend made her this creche. Now I have never seen baby Jesus depicted as a flamingo hatching out of an egg, but that's my friend's sense of humor. Please don't take offense.

The shelves are up in hubby's new shed, ready for all the gardening chemicals, etc. My job was to stain them to protect the surface a bit.

I thought you might enjoy this:

Poor Polly dog lives such a tough life. This is her usual spot with Dad while he reads the paper in the evening.

This will be quite a week! Two of my granddaughters will arrive from Illinois on Friday evening, and we will celebrate with the family on Saturday. Lots of fun to look forward to! Some blue in my pictures, so will link in with Sally for Blue Monday. Have a blessed week.
