Friday thoughts

I've taken a few pictures lately to share with you, so thought I'd join in with Five on Friday and Willy Nilly Friday 5 if Amy and Tanya have them open this early in the year. Thanks for hosting the memes ladies!

January 6th was Epiphany. Sort of the end of Christmas for us Christians. So this past Sunday, the ladies of the church organized and set up the 16th annual Epiphany Tea for all the ladies of the church (and daughters). A number of ladies have beautiful sets of dishes and a knack for decorating a beautiful table. I thought I would share a few of these with you.

There were finger sandwiches, cookies, and two kinds of tea for us to enjoy.

My daughters and granddaughters went bowling on the granddaughters' last day in Texas before returning to Illinois. Grandson Carson got in the picture with them.

This was an interesting quote and picture on Facebook for the new year.

What a wonderful thought to have this collage as a representative of God's paintbrush.

And finally, a cute reminder of time gone by. Remember Dick and Jane and Spot?

Have a wonderful weekend, this the second in our new year 2016!

Linda Kay

It must be a great thing to have social contacts in the church... and the fb-quote is very good.
Most I'm enjoying of all the colorful birds!
Have a nice weekend

(we cannot move to another place, we haven't money, not enough for alldays life or remedies, and a move far away is very despensive... and my mother is here in town, that means, that I must stay)

I love doing tables like those for a party
And I have to comment on Dick Jane and Spot , yes I read all those books when I was learning to read.

and another thought do you and your readers know the name JUlia Child?
I was just reading a blog and a lady said she never heard of Julia Child, I just had to get that off my chest LOL maybe she was raised without a TV?

Everything is so pretty, and yes, I remember Dick and Jane quite well. I got a subscription to a Lutheran magazine for children when my son was small. I still remember a poem in it that started
Epiphany, Epiphany, it is a funny word.
Epiphany, Epiphany, reminds me of our Lord.

Love,
Janie

The collage of such colorful birds was a wonderful sight.

And your g-daughter's circle of shoes was cute.

But, most of all I enjoyed the beautiful table settings at the tea party. Especially all the cobalt blue!

Your epiphany tea looks amazing! Oh that blue & white table is so gorgeous (my favorite color combo!) but all the tables and arrangements were so wonderful. Beautifully done! What a great thing to celebrate! Love your quote and that little Dick & Jane page! Hope you have an awesome new year! I'm sorry you won't be doing Wit & Wisdom anymore. I do have that right, don't I?
