January Past

It's Hump Day! Time for Outdoor Wednesday.

This picture was taken in January of 2015 at the bird feeder. The weather was a bit chilly, as you can see the birds sort of fluffed out. And they were hungry. The rose below was one of the last ones on the antique rose bushes, so not looking too good.

The weather here in January this year is really hard to predict. The weather people can't get it right at all. In any case, we go from 30 up to 70 and back to 30, even below that to freezing. The good thing is, no snow!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and the rest of your week, my friends.

Linda Kay

If it happens for a week or so it is weather, but this has been for months and that is climate change.

Lots of activity at our bird feeders, too!
Have a great day!

You too, Linda Kay! I feel the birds too. Lots of chickadees and wrens! And gluttonous mockingbirds for suet!

Our Januaries are not similar. We are in a cold spell right now. Temperatures will not go above freezing for two weeks and maybe longer.

Hello, the cold weather does seem to bring more birds to the feeders. Love your sparrow shot. We had some snow yesterday, just a dusting. Have a happy day!

we are enjoying no snow also and longing for spring even summer. But then when the sizzling heat returns, we think of winter's coolness. Never satisfied that is true!

Most unseasonable weather here in the Bluegrass. So warm and then all of a sudden cold and then temps up again. Unusual. Our son lives in Texas and he says same there. We have a lot of birds too, especially Cardinals. Have a great week and weekend.

And the last rose... here with us the snow is gone, but the next will come, I think. Well. that's winter -
Enjoy your time - and thanks for visits and comments

Loved the photos, of your birds especially but I also liked the rose. It is so cold here but we don't have any snow yet. I was so sorry to hear about your friends from church in your comment and do hope he is well on the road to recovery. His wife must have had a very hard time too with the worry of it all. My heart really goes out to them as it is awful being away and sick. Last year I had the most awful food poisoning. We were due to fly home the next day and I did with the help of a wheel chair to get me through Heathrow. Fortunately I slept the whole flight with no problems. The year before that about a week later I came down with the worst respiratory infection I have ever had and it lasted four months. No problems this time. So, I really do feel for your friends. Hope they are home soon. Have a great day Linda Kay.

We are having similar weather. I'm still waiting for snow though. Love the picture of the birds, it reminds me that "His eye is on the sparrow and He watches over me".

Weather people can only get the next three hours right, and then their accuracy drops off a cliff. Here it's sunny but cold today.

St. Louis is on a weather roller coaster this season also. It's been in the teens recently but will be near 60 tomorrow.

Awww, look at the fluffy little birds!! They are so adorable.
I have one mum bloom that held on until the very first snowfall. It was a very determined flower. ha.

If you don't like snow, I guess that's good.

I understand you so well. I never can't guess how to dress right with our winter weather. Half a day it is cold the other half it is sunny and warm or some other. This weather makes me go crazy and feel uncomfortable all the time.
