Blue and Fences

Blue skies and fences with lots of fluffy clouds on our drive around the Hill Country. So I'll share these with you today for Sally's Blue Monday and for Theresa's Good Fences on Thursday.

Note the golden lions at the gate posts on the top picture, and the live oak trees that are a part of the Texas landscape.

Here's a gate with some stone posts, and a simple fence line. The box you see in the foreground is an electronic gate opener that is activated by a code. Note the American flag and the Texas flag standing straight out in the wind.

Have a wonderful week, this first week in February. We have friends visiting us from Illinois. They have spent a month in Tucson and are on their way back to cold and snow country.

the gold lions are a bit much. i have one place here that painted theirs shiny silver. they repainted them after about a month to a more subtle gray. :)

Nice photos.
I too have had visitors staying with us...gone back up north now..

Well, the lions are certainly impressive and so is the fence. I personally wouldn't ruin my fence with lions guarding the top - a couple of impressive lamps would have been better, but, eh, I didn't pay for em, eh.

we have a live oak tree in our front yard and no snow! that's why we live in the desert of Utah!

Hi Linda Kay,

We have a place not too far from us with buffalos at the entrance. I asked and discovered that the owner of the home is a football player from the Buffalo Bills.

Thanks for playing today.

Have a Beautiful Blue Monday!

It take quite a bit of wind to make flags stand straight out.

Those are lovely gates. The flags attest to the day's windiness.

I like the lions: they're cute.

Hope your friends' visit is enjoyable for all. A little R & R from the cold!

I know it sounds crazy, but I think that I have seen those gold lions before! Odd huh! xx

The first entrance suits me better!

The lions make a nice attraction to the gate. Definitely EYE WATCHTOWERS.

I often wonder if we're better off with or without the electronics. Our car windows currently won't roll as the electronics are playing up. We'd never have that problem with the old handles.

Nice photos. Tell your guests they better hurry. We're expecting a big snow storm here in the next couple days! :-)

I've always admired live oak trees! I saw some amazing ones on a visit to San Antonio. We have been getting snow the past two days--this is some storm!

Hello Linda kay. The Hill country is very pretty in your photos. I have always admired lions at an entrance to a gated home or community. The Biltmore home near us has the biggest lions at the entrance that I have ever seen. Very majestic no matter what size.

Thank you for your sweet comment about our new baby girl in our family. We are thrilled to say the least.

Happy Blue Monday.
Hugs,
Jeanne

Make me think of "Lionsgate" movie production company.

The fences are cool...but most of all, I love the flagpole with the Texas/USA flag together like that. Always have, always will.

Tucson was our 'first retirement' home, before I needed more water landscaping. lol Life is truly a BEACH!!! A warm, coastal, Texas beach to be more specific.

It insists on being gray here most of the time this winter.
