It's Friday!

Yikes, how did it get to be Friday already? Time for reflecting on the week past. Joining in today with Willy Nilly Friday 5 and Five on Friday. Thanks for hosting!

1. Last Friday I participated in a reading project set up by my friend Sheila Kale. In four locations throughout Fredericksburg, 90+ volunteers read passages from the Bible between 7 AM and 7 PM. This lasted all through Thursday and Friday in which time we read the entire Bible. My assignment was at 9 AM on Friday, Eccl 6 through Isaiah 1, on Cross Mountain. Here is a picture of the cross beside where I was reading.
From the top of this mountain (probably really a large foothill) there is a 360 degree of the area. As you can see it was a beautiful day. The opposite side, facing Fredericksburg, is lighted.

2. On a lighter Easter note, I found this pretty amusing:

3. My tomato plant is producing. So far I've had to cover it twice against the cold, but it is surviving and looking good.

4. As I was cleaning house earlier this week, I ventured into my hubby's office. He has some collections, and I took the time to move them and dust the shelves. Here is the walrus bunch. There are more that don't show in this picture. Note the cameras on the next shelf up.

There are also duck decoys and many toys. You gotta love him! I talked him into this natty hat when we were shopping at Penny's.

5. Amanda was a speaker at a recent conference and did a fabulous job of helping us writers with organizing our thoughts. I am planning to read her latest book this next week. What are you reading?

It's April Fool's Day! Did you play a trick? Have a really special weekend, my friends.

Happy Friday to you.

Can you come and dust all of my wife's Mickey Mouse figurines? Hm. While I'm at it...maybe I should consider vacuuming my teddy bear collection.

No tricks today unless you count what I pulled this morning on myself. Waking at 4:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. That was April Fool enough for me.

Oh, that is a lovely photo of the two of you. Thank you for sharing.
I also like the cartoon caption at number 2... it made me chuckle.

Enjoy the rest of Friday and have a lovely weekend.

All the best Jan

An interesting five.

I can imagine feeling closer to God in this beautiful picture. What a reaffirming wonderful idea. The world could use more blessings.

Like the cute couple and the hat.

No tricks for me today. Getting things done so we can drive down to Austin this evening. Laundry, baking brownies, grocery store! I love that you read the Bible through. I have a friend in Winnsboro who does that too. I think it's wonderful!
Very nice photo of you and your husband and also the pic of the cross. Nice.

The reading project sound gorgeos, wish, I had been there!
Cute collection, by cleaning we can spend hours with our things (not only to clean, but a little to play with them - )
Enjoy your weekend

How did you know today is Friday? Did you cheat by looking at the calendar? Or is that what this blog is for, keeping track of what day it is.

Love the Easter quote, so funny! It has reminded me that I have a bunny that I hid for myself, must go and get it - I am being serious!! Love your husbands walrus collection too, I have never seen so many walruses - not sure what the plural of that is - together before, incredible! Thank you for taking part in Five On Friday, I hope you have a great weekend! xx

That is a darling photo of your two, makes me think of a fun and intriguing British mystery for some reason, maybe the natty hat. No April Fools jokes, hubby is packing for a long trip and I have had one of those house guests that follow you from room to room telling tales.

I think that would be such a privilege to read the Scripture on that hill. How awesome. Walruses are something I never thought about much less collected--how fun!

The outdoors Bible reading project sounds excellent. I am reading the Bible in a Year with the ESV translation, where we have OT and NT verses each day. That is the first walrus collection I have seen.
