County Fair Time

One of my favorite parades is the Gillespie County Fair Parade, held in conjunction with the mostly 4-H Fair with all the young folks participating. So here comes the Fredericksburg High School Band!

I'll share just a few more photos and another video from the parade, so as not to bore you with the entire parade - it was over an hour long.

Always the Fair Queen and her court, doin' the wave!

The Float from my church - Bible School Kids. We won a blue ribbon and trophy!

The Fair includes a display by the Antique Tractor Club.

You can't have a parade in Texas without the horses. There were three riding clubs in the parade in total.

Note that incredible blue sky. Happy Labor Day! Image result for emoticons patrioticJoining in with Jeanne for a Blue Monday.

Congratulations! An Autumn county fair is wonderful; ours is in early August and I never remember to go. It's just too hot in early August...whose "bright idea" is early August? lol

What a great parade and congratulations on the win by your church. The blue skies were very blue here this weekend, too! Happy Labor Day and Blue Monday to you.

I always had entries in our county and district fairs...art, needlework, canning, fresh veggies, animals etc. It was exciting. I've slacked off the last few years since I no longer show horses.

Thanks for coming by. I did put a spider warning in the title.

Hello Linda Kay, Our County Fair is about to begin next week. My garden club has a flower show there every year. It is a big deal. The entries are judged and lots of ribbons are given for the different entries. So much fun.

Congrats on your church's float ribbon and trophy. It looks beautiful and a lot of work. You gotta love a parade. Big smile here.

Happy Blue Monday.
Hugs,
Jeanne

Quite a parade. Here the fall fairs often happen over the second, third, and fourth weekends of the month, and generally in more rural areas.
