Big Bend

As I mentioned in my last post, we traveled to Fort Davis TX in January, then we ventured on to Big Bend National Park. Many, many miles of the most intriguing mountains and desert.

Hiking is a popular reason to travel to Big Bend...yup, that's me!

Not sure how we would build a wall here between Mexico and the U.S. along the Rio Grande. We took a hike up the mountain to get this view.

This formation was called "Donkey Ears", kind of appropriate. These are much larger than they appear in a photo. Note the perfectly clear blue sky.

Sunsets are always beautiful in Texas with a few clouds, but the clouds were very unusual in this one, kind of reminded you of puffs of cotton.

The drive back to Fredericksburg took us six hours, so it's no easy trip. It does give you an appreciation for just how big Texas is, however.

Have a wonderful Wednesday. Our next adventure is a trip to Dallas, so I'll share some of our trip with you soon.

Think of this the next time you have a cup of tea: (from the Seniorific News)
One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little tea set as a gift and it was one of my favorite toys.
Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of "tea" which was just water.
After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my mom came home. My dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing'. Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy; and she watched him drink it up.
Then she said, as only a mother would know, "Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"  😏
